I have a 98 XLT. Has any one ever had problems with the brake light swtich located on the brake pedal. My brake light stopped working today. The bulbs were good. The fuses were good. I traced it down to the brake light switch ( before I continue, that SOB switch is hard to get to 
)
I took off the switch and tested it . It worked fine. I put it back on the wire and tested it and it worked fine. I then put it back on the pedal ..DId not work. But what I did do to get it to work is take out the little plastic washer/spacer that is goes on the rod that goes into the firewall. I took this little spacer off and out the swithc back on. Plugged it in and BAM I got brake lights again.
I just wondering if any one else has had any problem and once again . I have proved that they always put extra parts on that do not need to be there
