the emergency brake light on my explore keeps coming on and going off even though the emergency is not engaged. I can set the brake and release it but light stays on. I have no problems stopping the vehicle nor is there any squealling or "mushy" feel to brake.
The light has gone off but came back on while driving under normal conditions. When I depress the brake pedal it would go off and then come back on when I would release the pedal. Any ideas...and thanks

The Red brake light comes on for only 2 reasons. 1) the emergency brake is pressed or 2) Low brake fluid. As your brake pads wear it takes more fluid to force the calipers and wheel cyclinders out lowering the brake fluid level. When driving around the brake fluid in the reservoir just sloshes around and can intermittantly cause the light to flicker. So check the fluid and fill to the max line.

thanks for the advice, i'll give it a check.
