The Brake Pedal goes to the floor and there is a strange noise when braking at low speeds (about 5mph),especially when slowing down to turn right or left. The ABS light is not on,and I just put it on a computer and shows no ABS faults.Any one got any ideas?.Thanks.Mark

1) did you check the front/rear brakes calipers/pads?
2) have u popped off the brake fluid reservoir? is the reservoir filled to the proper level?
3) is there any dark liquid (brake fluid) leaking from under your explorer?

the ABS system will only report ABS related issues such as when computer isnt getting proper signals from the sensors.. the ABS system will not report low brake fluid or why your brake pedals are able to go all the way down to the floor.

the fact that ur brake pedal can go all the way down is VERY dangerous..

I am not sure about your noise.... but on my 96X I recenlty replaced one of my front hubs. for about a month after that my abs motor kept kicking in on ocasion at low speeds ( like when pulling out of the garage) but would not throw an abs light. it eventually went away and I never worried about it.

HOWEVER, I never had my pedal go to the floor. you may have a leak in your system. this is dangerous and you should get this checked out.
