Recently, my brakes have started to grind.. not squeal as though the pads are worn but they grind, especially when coming to a stop while heading downhill.. It is mainly the front driver side wheel, and only happens occcasionally, especially after a medium-long length drive(30+ miles)... I dunno what the problem is, when the X went in to get the rear tires replaced(because of a flat) they, supposedly, checked all the pads and said they were fine.. I dunno whether or not to believe them, but since the brakes aren't squealing, just grinding, I'm sorta leaning towards might be a problem with that rotor...I dunno...

I would take the wheel off and look at your pads and rotors. You might not have any pad left on the brake pads causing metal to metal contact causing your grinding. If this is the case You will probibaly have to replace your rotor. You may also have a warped rotor. If that is the case you will robibaly have to replace.

Your pads may have cracked and you lost part of one.....
