idk if the caliper would work or not... not saying NO to the idea, cause i have no idea lol...

but have you upgraded your PADS / ROTORS / LINES at all ????

i noticed a pretty big difference by just changing my pads to HAWK's...

well i tried looking for stainless steel lines but i havent found any...i was wondering about the calipers because i do have all four available from my friend...an upgrade is always good if it works...

you gotta think that the explorer weighs more also. that might make it a not so good choice. id go with hawk pads a drilled rotors. big difference from stock on my mountaineer

i went with Power stop rotors(Drilled), and ceramic pads..my truck stops faster than my girl friends honda...i can make people eat dash if i realy want to...stupid question though...why stainless lines? more brake pressure?

I have Cobra Brakes on my 1992 2WD Explorer.

Is yours 2WD or 4WD?

Yes, it CAN be done. 17" minimum wheels required. You will have to make some sort of adapter to get from the Explorer Spindle to the Mustang Bracket.

is it a big difference. i figure with the extra weight of the 3rd gen it wouldnt make a big difference

I have DBA slotted discs and Bendix GCT 4WD pads on mine, and it stops plenty quick enough.

You would only benefit from a Cobra calliper upgrade if they were better than 2-piston callipers. If they are just bigger callipers, you will get no benefit unless you upgrade to the bigger discs to match.

I just installed EBC 6000 greens, Raybestos Advance Technology rotors but i only had them on for 1 week. Stops really well, very happy so far.

you are correct on the more brake pressure. Rubber will expand slightly as pressure is increased braided stainless will not.

What exactly do you mean 95-03 cobra brakes?

The reason i say is because there have been vast changes in mustangs in 94-03....not sure if all the brakes are the same....i would double-check to make sure first.

thanks alot...im takin a look at it asap

They don't list anything for the 2002 on up.

just to keep it easy, and to go with what people know works...

Upgrade your Pads, and new OEM Rotors or Slotted or Drilled Rotors...

and experience noticeable gains...

I went Hawk and fresh OEM rotors, and noticed a difference, i could only imagine if i stepped up to Drilled or Slotted Rotors how much the braking performance would increase...

I always have wanted to do this.

I m wondering what size are our discs?

and the kit that comes with cobra calipers are 14" which is a nice size IMO. But I would love to find out if it is possible to make this set up of 14" discs and cobra calipers fit on our 3rd gens.

What kit comes w/ 14" rotors? Stock Cobras are 13"s, at least on my '94. If there is a 14" kit I may have to upgrade the '94 Cobra and fit the stock cobra parts onto my Ex.
