Brake Vibration Not Caused By Warped Rotors

A blown shock will give that sensation, too. When you brake the wheel will hop up and down skipping over the road. So it *feels* like the brakes are pulsing, but really the wheel hopping is what's causing the wheel+brakes to catch/release quickly.

Funny you should mention that. I haven't gotten the chance to test runout yet. I've been focusing on getting my Zephyr road-worthy, but I noticed that the Aviator has started leaking something by the RR wheel. Just took a look, and guess what? It's shock fluid! Shopping for new rear shocks now. I hope that's the only thing that's wrong. haha
 






Well, I finally got around to putting the shocks in today. Took it for a drive, and it still has the problem. I think there might be an improvement... It's just like the other test drives after replacing the brakes. it seems better or even fixed at first, but as things warm up, the problem comes back. I'm so used to the vibration, I don't know if that's how it usually is when I drive the car. I'll have the rotors resurfaced again and start looking at other possibilities, I guess. Pretty disappointed. Not that it didn't need shocks, but I was hoping for a more dramatic result for all that time I spent.
 






Bent axle?

I had the exact same situation on my 2007 GMC Envoy. It happened when lightly pressing on the brakes.
I would jack up the back end block the front tires an put it in drive and watch the tires see if they move side to side
 






Hmm, interesting. That's worth checking out.

Fun new development, I noticed a puddle under the LR wheel area just now, just like before. Took a look under there, and it's SHOCK FLUID! So, either my brand new strut is somehow bad, or I did something wrong when installing it. What could I have done??!

or maybe some existing problem, such as a bent axle, wrecked my brand new strut. What do you guys think?
