So my wife and my new child are taking a ride the other day when all of a sudden the wheels lock up and the car stalls in the middle of the intersection. There had been a clunking coming from the rear right wheel prior to this which I thought was loose lug nuts or a loose bolt on the caliper. After the incident my wife had it towed to the brake shop where they did a full inspection and found absolutely nothing...nada... bupkis. My wife's imagination now has her thinking it may have been the transmission that locked up somehow (about 78,000 miles). And then part of her thinks that maybe just the car stalled and she freaked out. Seeing as how the brake guys didn't find anything, do you think its possible they may have missed something that would have made it lock up, or is it possible that some kind of tranny mishap would have made it happen? The last option is that my wife is nuts, which is a given since she married me.
