I am having a problem with my brakes. I recently put new hard brake lines on the rear. The other day I put new front brake hoses on. When I went to test the brakes I slammed on them and the truck did not stop at all like it should. It seams like the front brakes are barely working if they are working at all. I bled the whole system twice including the master cylinder. When puting on the new front brake hoses the master cyl. emptied because I could not plub the brake line. Could that have messed something up? I am at a loss and some ideas/help would be appreciated. I don't know if this is a new problem either because when driving the truck normally it doesn't feal like there anything wrong.

Did you bleed the abs pump? Could have air in it and normal bleeding will not get it out from what I read.

I don't think you can bleed that. Have you done it before? It doesn't say anything about in the Chilton book.

Theres a special tool for it. Plugs into the abs wire harness I believe and it cycles the pump or whatever.

stupid..but get bigger tires recently by any chance? lol

I did. Actually I did a 2" lift, 31" tires, and new front brake hoses all at once. I cleaned everything up while under there. I found out what was kind of causing the problem. One caliper must have been seized so I put new front calipers on and it did help but now I guess I am just feeling a little less braking power from the bigger tires. I still can't lock up the tires and put the truck into a skid. Is this normal?

In the future, hold the brake peddle down a bit with a brick. you Master will not empty.
