I am sitting on the side of the freeway trying to figure out what happened:

Driving about 70MPH, I heard a noise/jolt and engine suddenly revved, without increase in speed, as if it was disconnected from transmission. I immediately pulled over. Car will not start now, but I hear the the starter motor spinning quickly, as if it is not engaging with the flywheel. I would have thought transmission, but with the starter not engaging, I am confused. Awaiting tow truck. Expecting a big bill. 😅

Thanks for any help.

Broken flywheel. Previous owner must have had terrible work done.

At least the flywheel is cheap because they never break. 😆
