When the car in turned off the center break light has this real subtle bilking it does, it does not do it when running. Thoughts?

i dont have any clues, but i did see this on a new sport... the 3rd brake light blinked when the car sat there.......

Touchy brake pedal switch? I dunno.... try unplugging the brake pedal switch and see if that eliminates it. It could be that the spring in the switch isn't quite strong enough to hold it off? Dunno....

I thought mine was blinking too untill I noticed that it was just the sun.

The only thing I can think of is if it somehow chafed two wires together, and those two wires happened to be the theft indicator and the third brake light wires. Then it might be just enough juice to blink.... very, very unlikely though.

Ooooh.... here's a thought: Aftermarket alarm where the wires for the blinking LED and the parking light blink are crossed maybe?

I know, I know.... it's a stretch..... grasping at straws here.... It's probably something much more simple.... like gremlins....

Having the same isue with my 98. 3rd light blinks/flickers dimly and the corner brake lights do not work at all. Tail lights, parking, and blinkers function correctly. Replaced the BOO switch on the pedal to no avail. Any solution?

I had a bad ground on an old ranger headlight once. When the headlights were on the left blinker lights stayed one bright. It took forever to find, but only a minute to fix. It could be a short somewhere causing this. I really have no idea where to look though.

I have this same issue but cant figgure it out! I have searched this forunm high and low but no real awnsers. can any1 help!!!!

If you don't have any brake lights (backs not third), then you are going to need a meter to check for voltage at each lamp. If it isn't there, there it is likely you have a broken splice. If it is there, then check for ground at each lamp, it is likely missing.... or possibly a problem with your LOM module (lamp out).

Belive it or not both brake lights (sides not third) where blown out I checked the wiring then I went and bought 2 new bulbs. Problem solved, The third break light will blink when the vehicle is off, why......? not to sure maybe has somthing to do with the balast runnig the 3 rd brake light?? Thanks every 1 .

I think I have just found another forum I will get addicted to!:salute: :salute:
