LMAO, I agree!:wtf:

A blinking check engine lamp indicates that the engine is running in a condition, bad rich, that is causing damage to those converters!

Don't just sit there you better blink back

I'll think about changing the avatar, but man- I can't figure out why you don't like it! :D

99% you have a missfire which is why the cel blinks. driving with a miss fire will cause engine damage.

I'd be the other 1% :D since that unburnt fuel caused by the misfire makes for a very rich condition.

also washes the cylinder bores, causing a really really expensive repair.

from something simple or cheap; coil, plug, wires or injector, to a engine short block or an over haul, hundreds of dollars vs thousands.... flip the coin?

plugs, wires? when was this done last? we need more info!

ok seeing that the last post is about a month old, i'm not too far off.

i have a 95 ranger xl 3.0, stock, about 166k miles on it, bought it about 9 months ago

i've had the same problem too. it started last week when i noticed the cel blinking then go solid and ran boggy when you give it a little gas. i got to work and cleared to computer. 8 hours later, i let the truck warm up to normal temp before leaving and it was fine for the ride home. started right up the next day to go to work, ran fine for a couple miles, went a little shaky then the cel started blinking, then solid - i didn't let it warm to normal before leaving).

went to autozone before work to get someone to check it out and they said they didn't have an OBD I checker (i could've sworn that it was an OBD II) did the same thing - cleared the computer when i got to work, ran fine after letting it warm up to it's normal temp after work.

for a couple days the cel didn't do anything and it ran fine, then it started to act up again. i let it sit this past weekend, looked around the net for a solution and bought plugs and wires from pep boys - double plat autolite plugs and the brand of wires that pep boys carries. got a little ****ty sunday night with my dad (celebrated my birthday sunday night), came home and i have no idea where i put the bag with my plugs and wires. as soon as i find it, i'll do the swap and let ya'll know what happens
