I was replacing my water pump and i was down to the last bolt. I was having trouble getting the bolt all the way in then it snapped. The bolts must have gotten mixed up, i had them in the old water pump holes so i knew where they went but my friend lifted the pump up and they fell out. Anyway it was one of those long shaft bolts so its broken off pretty deep and you cant see it. Im scared im gonna damage something if i just start drilling without seeing whats happening. Can anyone give me some tips...Pleeeez

If you pull the other bolts out and the pump off, won't there be enough of the bolt sticking out that you can get it out with vice grips or an easy-out?

I agree. Since it's already been in and out once it should come out fairly easy too.

The bolt is snapped about two inches into the hole. Ez out wont even go that far. The upper part of an easy out is bigger than the bottom. I removed the radiator and had just enough room to fit a drill. Then i used a small metal bit to drill through the bolt then drilled through with one about the size of the bolt hoping a miracle would happen...but it didnt.
I think the only thing to do is remove the timing chain cover so i can see what im doing and drill the bolt out and tap it.
