try lmc trucks at lmctruck.com they have a full part list for the explorer. im not sure about shipping to sweden tho but it might be your best bet besides going to a junk yard...

Thanks.
i have looking at their site before and they have tons of stuff..
I would like to email them but cannot find their mail address..
does anybody know if its possible to contact them that way?
thanks
Robert

I have read about this problem on this site several times - it is a common failure due to poor design and poor quality steel. Unfortunately, the part is not available as a replacement - you have to replace the entire steering column, or find a replacement in a junkyard. There was one guy here who was having some new ones machined for around $200 apiece, I don't know if he ever actually did it or not. Do a search, it's on this board.

ill try to find it .. but these site is huuge...
if anybody find it.. please let me know..

Sorry to read of that. Buying a used column with as little mileage as possible should be the best answer. There are hundreds of parts places that may have it, so search for a while before settling on one. Good luck,

can i use the steering column from and older explorer?
my local junkyard have one 94 and one 95 i think

The shifter on my 94 was completely different than the shifter on my 2003, so I kind of doubt it, unfortunately.

i was able to cast new gear linkage at my garage.

but now i need your advice..do i must disamble the steering column for fitting it properly..?
if so.. how do i do that? is it hard work?

thanks
Robert

How did you cast new ones? You could make a lot of money selling those...when the alternative is paying $1200 for a new steering column, people would gladly pay a couple hundred dollars for that part.

Consult with a service manual, but the 95-01's are best done by removing the column. The shift linkage is attached to the column and it's easy once the column is out. I hope that works for you.
