My right power door lock has broken or something. I press the door lock button on the driver side and the passenger side lock just sounds like the engine thing inside is just running and doing nothing and the lock doesnt move. Its just that side that isnt working, do I need to take it to a dealership to have it fixed or is there anything I can do for it? Anyone else have this problem?? Thanks

I'd tear the inside door panel out and take a look at it (if you're comfortable with that). Lock and unlock the door while you can see the actual mechanism doing it's thing. It should be pretty easy to spot the problem. Good luck!

I had to same problem with a '97 and door locks.
After three months and load of time invested I spent around $450 at Ford.
The problem was grounding, I also was burning out head lights at rate of one a month.

Expensive lession, since I mentioned this to my local mecahnic and before I was done he said it's your ground. $45 to $55 in his shop. Which be the way he reworked the Ford job to make it right.

Good luck,

Roadking
