Hello all.
I thought I would pass this information on.
When I bought my truck earlier this year the sales told me that the transfer box had an "issue"! But it was ok to use because it was disconnected.
I used it for some months including a long tow with my caravan to France.
In August this year we were at the Welshpool Country and Western show and was parked facing down on a steep hill with a car in front.
To cut a long story short, I got under and reconnected the transfer box and backed out in low range, reselected 4 auto and all was well until recently when the box intermittenly selected 4 wheel drive for maybe 1/4 mile or so then fixed itself until the next cold start.
I decided to carry out the "brown wire mod" today as explained on the US forum, all went well until I realised that the wiring loom is back to front on RHD vehicles so if you do this mod remember to cut the wire that goes to the RIGHT over the instrument panel, I now have control over the front axle, hope this helps someone.
