Hello all,

Brand new to the forum(s), and just purchased a 2004 Ex XLT (4wd) about a month ago. I'm looking to modify it to fit my personality a little more and really need some advice. I've done some research here on a lift solution and decided to go with the BTF spacers and already contacted Brandon about ordering a set. I'm not too savvy on wheels and tires, honestly the sizing confuses the hell out of me. I have picked out a set of wheels that I do like a lot, and some sites say they are compatible and others say they are not (dependent on lift?). So I am not 100% sure if they are or not. I would like a good on/off road all-terrain tire, but need advice from some people that have more experience with this than I do.

I am interested in wheel spacers as well, but I've seen a wide range in price on these and am also not very clear on how to make that decision as well.

I'm looking at the KMC XD Series Rockstar wheels (18" or 20") or the KMC XD Series Misfit (17", 18" or 20"), but don't know what tire to wrap around them. I would like a 32" or 33" tire, but am I going to have clearance issues? Any and all advice/criticism would be greatly appreciated.

Wheels:

KMC XD Series Rockstar (Black, not shown) = http://kmcwheels.com/wheels/?wheelid=XD7758&siteid=3&groupid=36&page=1

KMC XD Series Misfit = http://kmcwheels.com/wheels/?wheelid=XD8007&siteid=3&groupid=46&page=1

Thanks!

Tim

I take it you're doing the 2.25" front/1.75" rear spacers?

I don't think you'll be able to fit a 33" tire on there and not have rubbing when turning, unless you put a body lift on too.

If you have 4wd, you should also think about getting a 5th tire of the same size to use as a spare. Pretty much the biggest spare that will fit in the spare area is around 31.6

Based on that the biggest I suggest you go is a 31.6". Maybe 255/65/18. That would be about a half inch smaller and a little less wide than a 265/75/16 and fit on an 18x9 wheel.

i run 2.25/1.75 spacers with 33"s. i had to trim a little rubber fender but no rubbing.
love the 33's :)

I'm having issues finding some high rated ones in 255/65/18 online :( Do you think the 285 65 18 Nitto Trail Grappler's would fit if I added in 1.5" wheel spacers would do anything to help this out? I'm almost at a loss here trying to fit in the KMC XD Series wheels I like.

I appreciate all the advice and help guys. This has been a big learning experience going through these forums.

I had the 2.25 from btf just on the front and was running 33's my tires stick out about an inch and have never had them hit the fender. I took the spacers off for my own reasons and i am still running 33's

Just a thought mate, if your buying rims anyway buy ones with the appropriate back spacing/offset and you won't have to fork out for wheel spacer's. G'day too:)

I've found my solution, just waiting for a message back from Brandon about the BTF spacers. Anyone know the best way to get in touch with him?

Yeah I just talked to Brandon. I am looking forward to installing them this weekend!
