OK, I decided to make something that would decrease the amount of hot air going into my kkm filter, so here it is, costed me about $15 in parts and and took bout 2 hrs to figure out how to build it, and put it together. its a bit outa place, or atleast I think so but it definatlly works 150%, I noticed a very big difference in the performance after warm up, here are some pics of it. this is not the final outcome of it as I really want to make it more presentable when I have the time. this is just a prototype.

here I used 1" thick outside house insulation it has a heat reflective backing. it goes all the way down to the frame rail.

here is what it looks like from the front

i just posted about it, anyways how'd you do it, what kinda materials will i need? I got a 96 ford explorer with a K&N

it is a 6 inch dryer hose

I used a 3ft piece of aluminum flex tubing, would recomend soft platic though, an adaptor from 4" to 6" at the end (factory fog opening) and a sheet of 1" thick external house insulation ( it comes in 4x8 sheets ). thats it....

oh... btw its 4" tubing .. forgot that..

looks good man. =)
i would go to the local hardware store and pick up a small heater filter to put over the front of it so you dont get water and mud and suck up in it. you know what ones im taliking about right? the ones for your house, normally big and square. your dont want that filter to get mud or water on it.

good idea,.. oh and btw... @ the bottom of the tube I bent the adaptor on the bottom so any water that gets in there can easily drain out.

wow i really like your truck
i just looked at your site and im impressed. =)
