How do you replace the courtesy bulbs in the outside mirrors? What about replacing the bulbs in the elevated brake light?

You are supposed to be able to pop the lens off, I think. But I have yet to do this on my wife's 02. They're called "puddle lights" BTW.

As far as the bulbs for the 3rd brake light I believe it's an assembly.

Thank you!

When I did mine IIRC the covers seemed pretty fragile being 20 years old so be careful getting them out. Previous owner had used brighter bulbs which partially melted it, too. It's been a while but I think I used and LED which should be brighter and cooler. Don't use an incandescent bulb brighter than the spec.

The puddle lenses just pop off with a little flat head. There is a slot to push a tab. I put LED's in mine. And yes the plastic may break cause it's old.
