Hi Nathan. I got some secondhand stainless steel bars off ebay. They were meant to be for a landrover and only cost £25. I positioned them where they looked best with rope, tape and a trolley jack and then welded some brackets up to suit. Better than spending £300- £400 me thinks. Good luck.

I have also been looking for some bull bars for some time now, they come up on Ebay from time to time, not very often though, usually make 150.00 plus. The best idea if you want some right away is just to order some from a US dealer, quite a few or willing to ship to UK, so take a look, with exchange rates it would be quite reasonable.

The explorer will take 265 75 R 16 without modification. I don't think you would get away with 275 without lift. There is a guide on the forum, under tyres and rims that goes through largest tires on certain rims, etc.

Hey Nathan, how r ya',

On your tyre question, your Ex will take up to 31.0x10.5x15" tyres w/o any mods,so yes, it would be feasible to say 275s would work on your stock wheels. O.k.? :)

Hi Nathan,

I'm running 265/70 R16 BFG ATs on my Ex at the moment without any probs - I did try to find some 31x10.50 R16 but no one seemed to stock them so stuck with the metric size.

The 265 look better and I think they help cornering compared with the old 255. The biggest problem you could have is that the rim might be too narrow to safely fit a 275, and also you would probably need to drop the profile to a 65 to stop any fouling and change in the speedo reading. A tyre fitter should be able to advise you about this better though.

I have to ask which part of Worcestershire are you from - I'm in the sleepy town of Pershore and I haven't seen too many Ex's around the area.

Im sorry I know this doesnt help... I got mine from 4wheelparts.com, but this was years ago, and I hear there are problems with thier service to overseas destinations.....

But heres what a bull bar from a 96 Dodge Ram looks like when welded to the front of mine...lol

Oh and BTW.... Im running 33 X 12.5 X 15 on 15 X 10 wheels....but its slightly modified ;)
