Ok, time for a totally silly question not pertaining to either problems with, or praise of, the new X. :D

There is a little plastic bump, roughly 3/4" square, and shaped like a pyramid in the center of the dashboard back where the dashboard and windshield meet. Anyone know what this is for? I presume its some kind of sensor, but danged if I can figure out which one.

I have a Limited, as I don't know if it's present on the XLT and Base models.

I believe its for the auto headlights, light sensor.

Or maybe the sensor for the automatic climate control. Had something similar in another vehicle.

My money is on it's BOTH!

It is the auto headlights. The climate sensor is hidden from the sun because if it was exposed to it, it would get a false reading thinking it is warmer inside then it really is.

Light sensor makes sense to me. Maybe if I have a few minutes I'll test it out...

Its the auto-lights sensor. Put your hand on it and your auto lights will come on. Take your hand off and they turn off. You know, like clap-on clap-off! LOL! :D

Glad somebody asked this.

I have been wondering what this was. Was going to ask here, if anybody knew what it was.
