Bumpin like a mad man!!

Well damn, i had finally gotten the amp and subs put in my X and was out just cruisin around on a nice sunny saturday just bumpin that thing like no other, matter a fact after havin it in for less than 3 mins i had rattled my rear view mirrow off but anyway i decided to drive downtown to Atlanta to pick up a freind of mine and after picking him up we're on the way back when all of a sudden BOOM!!....so sad

Now im just bumpin to the one 12" (which still sounds good) but im lookin to get some new subs that can handle my 1200W Audiobahn amp, but arent gonna cost me an arm and a leg. So far i found some Power Acoustic subs that are 1800W max and 700W rms, dual voice coils and 200 oz strontium magnet and for only $89 per sub, anybody know what kinda quality these are, and if they would be a good buy or just too good to be true at the price theyre goin for

don't go cheaper than audiobhan, rockford, mtx (my favorite), that kind of price level.

ok so i went back to the site to look at some other subs to get a feel for the cost and everything and noticed that the exact same sub model, but a 15" instead of a 12" cost 249.99 as opposed to the 89.99 for the 12", does this mean that these subs might be pretty good quality and just a REAL good deal or what...why such a big price change in the 2 subs??

Dont get a cheap sub, you will kick yourself in the long run...stick to the name brands, Audiobahn, fosgate, or mtx...

those power acoustic are acctually really good subs they are really clear and can hit very hard but if u abuse them they will bite u like they did me

i was lucky and could take it back everytime but u just have to watch and not go power crazy on them they sound nice and loud when powered by a small amp so u dont need to cram 1800watts to them lol

so you actaully had the power acoustics and they are nice subs, cause i mean ive been lookin at them (havent actually heard them yet) but they look pretty damn good, and i wouldnt go power crazy, matter a fact i have a 1200W Audiobahn amp and id be pushing two of the power acousitcs if i got them, so like 600 watts a sub, that shouldnt over do it right, they say theyre 700 RMS, anyway i just wanna make sure theyre not p.o.s. subs before i throw em in my X and blow em like i did the xtants

my subs seem to be severly underrated. [kicker solo baric s12l7's] 12" dvc. rated at 1500peak and 750rms, they complety destroy my ears. i picked them up for $200 each a year or so ago. i have them powered by a kicker kx1200.1 [rated at 1420 watts] in an ported box. even though its ported, they sound quality is still there. ive yet to have the spl tested, but im sure its up there. im suprised i havent blown glass yet... good luck with your decision...

yea my old subs (the one that i blew the first day i had them hooked up) were not supposed to be hooked up to an amp as powerful as the one i had them hooked up to, but i had them in my freinds integra hooked up to the same amp for almost 6 months and they were soundin damn good, then of course as soon as i put them in the X they wanna play games....i have the worse luck i swear, but yea hopefully my luck will start to change soon

i was also really surprised how good they sounded for the 8 hours they were playin before i blew one, i couldnt even see straight, vision was blurred and i felt like i had some beer goggles on or somethin

springtension.....i got a buddy running that same setup, only with a rockford bd1500.1 to each L7, he hit something crazy on his dB rating, you should go get dash miked or something....
and AtlXplorer, just like everyone else said: stick with the name brands man(kicker, fosgate, audiobahn, mtx, JL), you'll appreciate it in the long run

i bought a nice mtx box it has 2 10's in it and i am happy but f u want 12's you can get a similar box for about 150-200$ f there is a "rex tv" in your area go there, thats where i got my box #TW102 for 140$ and it runs fine (off the stock amps no less) I JUST CANT CRANK IT CAUSE THE STOCK AMP SUX...want a new amp...

i had my power acoustic severly under powered and it sounded great nice clean bass they are very efficient subs so u dont need to power them hugely

they will work wonderfully with ur amp also just make sure u do not abuse them what i mean by that is dont wire them backwards or something just take ur time and u will be fine

i think I blew up my first one by wiring it wrong but the 2nd one was fine untill the pos and neg crossed and took out a channel and the amp =) woops lol

I never heard of elemental design but they look decent price isnt half bad for the specs.

I have always been a JL man myself.

I also vote for Kicker but i blew mine on a frequesnt basis or ripped the foam. After having 1000 watt lead wires installed, new voice coils etc they held up pretty good and hit pretty low.

Anyway dont go with some fancy looking off brand as its normally all show and no go. Junk like pyramid etc.
