I Had This Problem :
"Really don't know what to do
My explorer when cold will start normally it will go to 2k RPM and go back down progressively to 1 or 1.1. The problem occurs when you try to accelerate the RPm will drop and it will go into a bubbluly state. If you let it warm up a bit it wont do it but it's obvious that I have a loss of power (can hear the valve clacking when I give to much pedal) and it will sometimes hesitate when changing gear.
Changed:
IAC
FPR
Coil Pack
Spark Plugs
Fuel Filter
Fuel Pump
Check and clean injectors
Intake Lower and Upper gasket (did overhall)

Seems top me like it just not getting enough gas I don't know help anyone

PS: Was working really fine after the overhall was done. After that it took one week for me to feel and notice the power decreas. "

The Answer to All this was Changing the MAF Sensor

Well the problem is now its burning MAf sensors.I am caught in a cycle. I get to the point where it bubles cold and hesitate while accelarating. Puting in a new MAF sensors does the trick until it "burns" too. I tought it would be the EEc acting up but no got two of them now and it still crashes the MAF sensor at a certain point with either one of the EEC.

???????

How are you determining that these MAF's are bad before replacing them? Is it possible you have a bad connector?

I would be tempted to put a voltmeter on the MAF and watch it while driving to see if I could possibly see what is going on.

What kind of air filter are you using? Aftermarket filters that require oiling can easily be over oiled, which will foul the MAF.

Have you reset the computer by disconnecting the battery every time you changed/cleaned the MAF?

You changed the plugs and the coil, but not the wires? How old are they?

Yes I did reset the computer(S) everytime
Wires are ok I guess changed them 4 months ago plus had them check when I changed the spark plugs
but would you think a wire could fire up fine every time I changed MAF then go bad again
The connector maybe I should try to change
where am I going to fing that kind of pig tail

I would use a multimeter and check the voltage going to the MAF to be sure it's not getting too much power.

Have you tried resetting the computer without changing the MAF? Does that do anything?

I don't think you'll find that connector anywhere but a junk yard.

I'll Tri that
Is the normal voltage 12 v

what would cause too much voltage to get to the maf? is it like too powerful an alternator, or the tensioner too tight?

Is the normal voltage 12 v
Yes, the "excitation" voltage is battery voltage. Output signal is 1-4 V or something like that.

is it like too powerful an alternator, or the tensioner too tight?
If the voltage regulator built into the alternator is working, then the power output of the alternator shouldn't matter, as the voltage will be regulated. If the regulator has failed somehow, the entire system could have too much voltage.

Voltage is ok
Let's try explorering
What else than the MAF that could cause such reactions

I expect a lot of different things in engine management could cause these problems. Are you getting any trouble codes? If this is for your '97, you might try posting this in the 2nd gen forum or Under the Hood so people more familiar with the 2nd gen engine management can comment.

Fuel delivery could easily be at fault -- check fuel pressure.
