Busted 4x4 Snapped Yoke HELP!!!

Seem the front passenger side yoke going to the front wheel has snapped on the transaxle side leaving my universal joint dangling.

Anyone know if it’s possible to change this with out taking the whole truck apart? Does the yoke pull out or something?

Which part of the passenger axle shaft is broken -- the one at the wheel, or the stub shaft coming out of the differential (It's called a differential BTW. Technically, a transaxle refers to a combination transmission + axle assembly like you have in front wheel drive cars and the old rear wheel drive VW beetles that had the engine at the back, too)? The outer part of the axleshaft slides out after you get the spindle off. The stub shaft has a C-clip inside the differential holding it in place, so this requires dropping the differential.

Its the differential side that must be changed. Is that a big job?

If you don't know, find someone who does and haver them help you. There is a lot of potential for damage if you start digging into this thing without any help.

You have to pull apart major parts in the front end to get this fixed.

Well since its now taken to snowing here I dont think I shall be doing this myself Ill have to take it someplace...

Any idea how many hours to fix this?

What else is worth 'pre' fixin while its all apart?
