Hi, I'm new here. I am shopping for a second hand vehicle, and I came across someone who has a 1996 Ford Aerostar for sale, and I'm wondering what they are like. Could you help me determine if I'm getting a reliable vehicle or not. It's for sale for 800 and the info I have on it right now is that it's a 3L v6 118000 on orginal drivetrain, remote start, driven daily 4 winter studded tires and 2 new summer tires goes with it. needs body work-bottom of sliding door, small hole on right rear quarter panel above bumper, and rockers. insp till oct 2010.

Any information or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I don't know anything about vehicles, so I'm looking up all the info I can on them.

Thanks.

Welcome to this forum! It sounds like a good deal if it's in good running condition. Check the transmission fluid to see if it's black & burned. The engine oil should be clean, and not have any coolant mixed into it. Was it used for towing? Does it have a check engine light? Which state do you live in?
