I tried searching but could not find anything specific, My 3rd gen ex has almost 60k miles on it. Its about time for me to invest some money into having quite a bit repaired and or replaced. I would like to do most of the work myself, my question is: Is it beneficial to buy parts online? I am looking to do a major tune up, replace the tires, all fluids, shocks etc. I am quite new to buying online so I was unsure if buying parts online will save me money, in additional is it still possible to get quality parts? If so what are some recomended sites? I appreciate everyones help and suggestions.

Figure postage into your calculations........now, what IF I have a return??

OK......for some stuff......it will be a deal, money wise. But, for others............a PIA to return stuff and wait for a new part to come.

Building a "relationship," with your local parts store can be invaluable.....IMHO. Find the, "right one," with knowledgeable people........that's the hard part.

Just my .02.

Aloha, Mark

PS.....I have bought stuff (for my Explorer) from internet sellers:

For A/c Parts: http://www.ackits.com/

For Elec Switches (not carried at local parts store level, and FORD wanted an arm and leg): http://www.rockauto.com/

For hard to find "interior door pulls": http://www.ebay.com/

For general knowledge and looking at parts:

BTW AutoZone has good DIY info and wire diagrams (on-line).
