2015 Explorer Limited
I recently got a 2015 Explorer Limited. Sometimes when it is cold, there is an odd buzzing from my dash, around the cluster. It has done it going down the highway, and when sitting in my driveway, so it isn't speed related. It sounds like it is the speedometer. I did get a video of it when I was sitting still in my driveway, although it is much louder in person than on the video.

The file is too large to upload here, so I put it on Youtube:

Please let me know if anyone has any ideas. I am thinking I probably need a new speedometer cluster, but I would like to try to make sure first

Welcome to the Forum.
Is it possibly coming from the fan located behind this grille in the dash?

It very well could, I didn't even see that there. I pulled it out and based on the amount of dust, I would not be surprised if the fan is starting to go out. I cleaned it out to see if that helps, probably not. It has warmed up so it isn't doing it any more, have to wait for it to get cold again.

Thanks for the tip.

Could you please tell me how you opened up that panel for access to that sensor?

Thank You; Brian

I just pulled the trim piece off by pulling on it near the speedo. Then the sensor just unclips and unplugs. There are youtube videos that show the process as well.
