I found a manual shift T-case for sale on Craigslist and although the ad doesn't specify what model it is, it does say its from an 89' Ranger. So I assume its a 1350. But it has a fixed front yoke instead of the slip-joint type. Will this bolt up to my 92' Ex? I read threads about them and everybody says the front yoke is a slipper and that is the only problemm with the swap. This one is definately a fixed front. Are there any disadvantages to a 1350 over a 1354? From what I understand, a 1354 has 6 planetaries and a 1350 only has 4. Is this a big deal? I don't use my 4X4 often but when I do, its in sandy conditions. Thanks for the help in advance!

Ranger STX 1350 w/Highrider suspension.

It is a fixed-yoke case, but is different than a 1354 (requiring a different length front driveshaft). It'll work in a pinch if you also get the 1350's driveshaft and shorten it 1" for your D35 front axle. I'd try to hold out for a 1354 though.

What he said. If you absolutely must get this case (we all know how rare manual t-cases are), just make sure you get the mating front drive shaft.

Yep the front driveshaft seems to be included in the picture. Thanks guys!

If the front fixed output is slightly angled and longer then the input, then yes it is a Hi-Ryder 13-50. I've got 2 and 1/2 of them sitting around.

Not all of the 13-54s have 6 planetary gears. They didnt start with that until '93 or 94. They early ones used the exact same 4 gear input as the 13-50. Dont worry, its not one of the weak points of these t-cases. I've had oil pumps fail, a rear output shaft break, the case bust open, and an internal U-joint break (13-50 only), but never stripped the low range planetary gears.
