well tomorrow after almost 2 years of searching for a descent bw 1354 transfer case i finally found one that is somewhat near me. it has only 73k miles on it. and it's out of a 94 ford ranger. unfortunalty it doesn't come with the linkage for it. but i was thinking about making my own linkage like a few guys here on the board have done so that i can still use my full length console.

anyways i'll be sure to keep you guys updated. oh yeah i also know that i need the front drive shaft out of a ranger. and i was planning on replacing all of my u joints while doing this upgrade. once again you might unforuntatly have to wait a couple weeks before you see some pics of it in my truck.

can you guys post some pics of your 1354's installed with a body lift so i can see where i'll have to cut my floor board. also some pics of how you did your linkage would be awesome also.

well i just got back from the junk yard. when i first got there they brought me an electric t case. so i had to go digging threw an entire building that was nothing but t cases. and after finding about 20(seriously) electric 1354's i finally found a manual case. at first i thought the case was busted up but it was actually part of the transmission housing still attached. plus it came with the front drive shaft still attached. i got the case and the drive shaft for $200. so i think i did ok considering that all the other cases i found were around $500 with no linkage and no drive shaft. i'll get some pics of it after i clean it up some.

Sounds cool - post up some pics of your linkage when you finish!

can anyone post pics of how you did your custom linkage just so i can get a few ideas.

i'll try to take a bunch of pics of everything that i do with this upgrade and keep it up to date

Mine isnt "custom" because I didnt start from scratch but its a BW-1350's sliced, diced, extended (for body lift), and modified to use 3/8" heim joints:

And this is the shifter with the vehicle having a 3" body lift:

Connecting rod made from two pieces of 3/8" fine thread bolts with their heads cut off and then welded to a small section of tube:

thanks for the pics

I THINK its because its offset to the left for the console, but maybe not?

Its a combination of all that -- the body lift, the 1350's shifter not having the same offset as the 1354's, and having a center console.

So, how would one go about getting that set up?

Does a certain some one know a certain some one that can build it and get it to me?:D

Just takes a little bit of measuring, fitting and some trial and error - and then making the changes based on what you see.

Ahaha well I cant build one right now, I have way too many projects backing up. Sorry!
