Hi everyone,

I have a 1995 EB with JBL audio system.

I've read a lot on this forum an it is very interesting. I need help to finish the work. I just bought a cd player (Kenwood kdc-222) for pleasure. I'm not a fanatic of music, but it is for kids...cassette is a little bit old for them.

I've cutted the dash black wire, by mistake. I've tryed to use the metra kit, but it was not fiting well. So i decided to connect wires. It seems that it wont work.

So I want to try to bypass the amp, but I want to know if there is a way without the harness ? I dont want to buy it, I already bought 2 of them. have no real budget for that. I already have my wire to reconnect to the speakers.

Here a few picture of the truck:

Thanks for helping.

i ran new wires to my door speakers intsead of going through the trouble of tearing the back of the truck apart.the driverside door was the only tricky part but i just ran through the outside of the gear mechanism didnt take long and the new wire can handle more power than the stock speaker wire harness. good luck hope this was useful info.speaker wire is peanuts compared to the bypass harness you need

Thanks for the anwser, I will think about it.

But if I do that, can I use the factory subwoofer ?

Thanks

The cd player is powering up. i sesolve the grey plug. If I bypass the amp, i will not need those other wires at the right ? Same if I rewire the 4 speakers ?.

Thanks

Can I use this king of wires for the speakers of bypass ?

bypassing the amp is manly for guys running more power than factory speakers.my situation was i had way too much bass from my aftermarket subwoofer it was drowning out the highs so i rewired the doors to use a more powerful aftermarket amp.as far as your situationim not sure what wire it is but i think all you have to do is attach the remote wire blue on kenwood to the remote wire for the factory amp and youll have sound again im not sure the factory color fo amp power on

yes but that may be overkill for you im thinking now your just missing sound right

you should only need a ford aftermarket car stereo harness and the extra wire on the factory harness goes to your remote wire im heading to the garage to look right now

I'm only missing song. But those wires goes to the amps. You can see on the picture of the dash, the grey plug give the power to the cd player, but i've cutted the black plug, because the black plug was not fitting the metra harness I bought at the car stereo specialist.

your black wire is the ground the blue wire is remote (amp) you still need the other wires but i would connect black and blue to designated locations mentioned above then youl need to figure out what speaker is left front left rear etc. use a 9v battery if you dont feel comfortable using your cd player to figer out what color coded wire goes to each speaker the batteryt will cause static sound in each speaker.touch brownish yellow wires figure out what speaker they go to than do the next two wiresv etc.

If I use a 9 volt battery, which wire do I put on it ? Can you explain to me plz.

Thanks

Can I use this to test or its to powerful ?

9v only youll smoke your speaker with that jumper box and it doesnt matter what wire it wont hurt your speaker

Hi,

Its not working. Seems that the the light green/black seems to be the ground. This wire is on the ground at the back of the truck, with others same light green/black wires.

I cannot connect this ground, the aftermarket ground is already plug on the other grey plug. Can I put both of these wires on the ground aftermarket ?

Here is the wiring diagrams that I have on cd...

Maybe it will help other people too.

The light/green wire seems to be the "power" to the cd changer (i dont have it) and to the subwoofer amplifier. The black should be the ground. In the wiring diagram they identify this black wire as "shield". I think I will pass new wires to speakers but I will let the old ones there and try to connect the amp/sub with this lg/bk wire.

What do you think about that?

I found how to make the bypass in the back of the truck, before the amp. I cut the wires before de plug and rewired to the head unit. I already did the rear right speaker and it is working fine. I will take a few pictures of the process, for those who want to do it.

I just dont know how to power the amp to make working the subwoofer. Anyone have an idea ?

Thanks

Thanks all.

The bypass is done. Working very well. I bypass the antenna to with an adaptor. it sounds very nice with this new HU.

I have another problem. My instrument cluster doesnt work. I've read that there is something to do with the radio plug in the front.

Any ideas ?

Thanks
