Most of my experience with V8 fords shows that there is one bypass hose from the water pump up to the thermostat housing. My '96 explorer has two hoses: one that is like above, and one that connects to the intake manifold at the same place as the temp sensor, then heads over to the heater core.
I am removing the heater core plumbing from this motor: do I need to keep that second bypass hose? Do I need it?
