Hi all thanks for looking. my question is I just installed a intake on my 2006 ford explorer 4.0 i just basically made a insert simmilar to the kkm style minus the pretty and nice craftsman ship. helpful info I basically took a pvc pipe 3" cut it to length cut in the slot for the maf sensor and attached. before you give me crap for startes im not interested in the thougts about pvc vs abs im making a mock up system then going to redo in abs. 2nd i didnt just screw it in and hope it woul seal i sanded the pvc pipe so that the surface was almost completely flat. then taped and screwed the sensor in with a light coating of the blue (sensor safe) rtv. sounded good definite part throttle improvement.
However, two problems 1 the cel came on im assuming im leaking air any other suggestions would be great. 2 its pinging slightly im assuming the ecu is relearning again any other thoughts? sorry for the long wright up just trying to be thorough, oh and the truck is all stock minus this. thanks again
