It comes with a gelcoat that you mix with the paint. I originally painted mine w/ hi temp paint, but the paint would not withstand the heat and dirt - basically faded within no time of washing and degreaser. Between whatever type of paint came with the kit and the gelcoat stuff, mine haven't faded or lost shine since I did them over 9 months ago...

Take it for what its worth...

Nice Powerslots TAS98xlt.

My 1500 degree paint has lasted over a year now and still looks great as the picture above shows. That was when I installed my stuff the spring.

I've pretty much decided on yellow now. I know silver and black would make the car look nice and clean, but I kinda want it to stand out. I am sure it will look good. I am planning to paint them this friday along with my friend and his corvette. Any tips or suggestions on how we should go about doing our calipers. I know the basic procedures, but i have a few ?s like
-how much time till we can put the wheels on after painting
-how long untill the car can be driven,
- How long does it take for the whole front to be done untill i can jack up the back
-and any other helpful advice you could give me would be really appreciated. thanks guys.

you could get some polishing compound and make them shine like chrome.....they are already pretty smooth.

mine arent. there are tons of rough casting marks all over them. you would also have to polish them the first time with a die grinder. then, who knows how long they would last before they corroded over again. i will admit i thought about polishing the front caliper bracket, and then painting the caliper.

Are there any "caliper covers"? On many of the high performance cars, I think i've seen the calipers look completely smooth.

I've never seen anything like that.

if they did make them, you wouldnt want them. you wanna get heat OUT of a caliper, not trap it in it.

the kit that CobraXP suggested covers up just about all of the casting marks. this is one of the reasons it is so expensive... it makes the caliper "slick" and fills in the casting.

On mine I just sprayed the hell out of it Several times. Looks like a gel coat now. They were pretty smooth to start off though.

Lets see some others pics!
