Had to replace the column shifter assembly unexpectedly last weekend; not too bad of a reasonably straight-forward job. One of the rear mounting ‘ears’ was gone and the other bolt was already halfway out—I’m surprised it was still functioning…
Anyway, when reassembling the mess (this truck had a cell phone and what looks to be an aftermarket alarm….what a rat-nest!), I find a small copper ‘contact’ on the floor. I still had the instrument cluster out but couldn’t find a spot where the contact may have dropped from. I looked around, but it’s difficult to do anything significant under the dash…
After reassembly, everything in the truck seems to be functioning correctly, but I still kept the little ******* JUST IN CASE….
Anybody here recognize where this may have come from?! Its about 3/4’’ on all sides…
