ok Guys so about 3 years ago my trans ate itself and I had for put in a new one. Not cheap! now on trans #2 and about 40k on it it's starting act weird. I had ford change the fluid in it back in December, right before the 3yr/36k waranty went out. Everything was great up till then. now it starting to shift really slow out of park, or from R to D.Could it be the torque converter? I have not had any lights come on except the last two times off roading, the O/D light would start blinking, but I think it something to do with the trans being in O/D when using 4x4 (didn't realize it was on:rolleyes: ) I have replaced the t-case to a manual 1354, but don't think it's effecting anything. I just need to know whats up with this thing. If it dies, I'm not putting another one in! I'll be going to a C5 then.

check the fluid level

the flashing OD light does not mean you had it in OD when in 4x4, it means the computer is storing a transmission trouble code and you NEED to pull the codes.....

Fluid level I would say is over filled:( Isn't that worse then under?

over filled is not good, drain some, you can use a hand pump through the dipstick tube, or a tube from your trans cooler

Check the code.

Not all scanners (ie "pocketscan") are capable of reading transmission codes so make sure you get a good reader or somebody who knows what they are doing

Yes the codes will help us a lot. It is not the torque convertor, but more likely the valve body or solenoids. Small chance of a leakying low/reverse servo, but you can replace seals on that when you remove the VB to repair/repalce it should that be your choice. Let us know the code(s).

The case has started to leak resently but very little, I'm not where from. I'll have to go over auto zone and have them pull the code. my code grabber is just for the engine PCM.

Some codes are manufacturer specific, so don't be surprised if Autozone doesn't get any code numbers. Not all scanners could read proprietary codes.

yeah i called Auto zone, and they said there's only did engine codes

besides the O/d litle only blinked off road, never any other time. Could have been too hot? I have no trans cooler:( on my list of things to do.

Offroad or on road matters not.. you have a stored code....it will potentially be VERY helpful.
