Calling all NC Wheelers!!!!!!!!

be glad thats all you broke. lol. We spent the rest of the afternoon (until 6:30) stuck on Kodak. Patty (little red TJ) broke his rear end, so we had to swap that out, and it took forever, we had to fish over 40 pieces of shaft out of the housing and diff. (with no magnet i might add). Dennis and I about flopped as well. Went one wheeling for a bit there.

Other than that, no carnage on my end. Ripped my muffler cover thingy off....no biggy, more funny than it is damage. Dennis bent a shock into a < jumping his TJ about 4-5 feet in the air.

wow, ya I feel lucky now. its a good thing I decided to leave. lol.

Hey! like I said, if your not breaking something, your not wheeling hard enough! You guys want to go back soon?

well, I dont know how long "soon" will be for me. I'll be dropping the tranny this week, and working on it in between classes.

had you ever gone up daniel before?

had you ever gone up daniel before?

yea twice, but the other way. that was the first time I had been the way we went, which I found was the more difficult of the two.

up is the only way. Down is no fun. ;)

lol, ya, I now know why daniel is difficult, going down I was like what the hell, no fun, an almost stock ranger can make this, going back up though, little more difficult, not really on me, but definetly on the truck.

with a locker you would have been fine. Maybe a little long to take the harder lines on the second big rock garden (i rubbed the wall a few times).

thats why I swapped my 7.5" rearend over to the 8.8". Im going to be getting some airlockers for my front and rear, possibly may just do a solid axle in the front. havent got it planned out yet, but do have the rear axle for about anything I want to do with that truck.

dont bother with the ARB in the rear. Just grab you a Detroit (if you are wanting to replace the carrier since it is the weak point), or an Aussie or something like that if you just want a lunchbox. You wont need the selectability in the rear. The front would be good with an ARB, but they dont make them for our front ends, so you would need to do an SAS in order for that to happen.

Keep us posted on the transmission. I'd dyeing to know what the problem is.

what type of front end do you have? I've got the Dana 35 IFS 27-spline under my front. thought they made an air locker for that.

dont think so. The d35 that is in our fronts is differnet than the d35 carrier in the rear for jeeps. That confuses alot of people and those automatic info spitter outer things that you type in axle type and it spits out what fits....those things dont know the difference between the 35 carrier we have and the 35 carrier they have. Your only locker options for the front are the Powertrax no-slip (discontinued, and hard to find and $$$$) or the Aussie (requires a little bit of trimming on the carrier to get it in)

i could be wrong but dont they have the true-trac for his also.

i dont think so. Unless the ranger is differnet from the explorers.

sounds like fun, what shape were the trails in. the only part of daniel i dont know if mine could have made was that ledge before the S turn. have tehy filled that in since spring or has it gottten worse when i rode daniel last spring we had to stack rocks to make it up.

no, its just as bad. You cant make it up that? I made that when i was on 31s. Thats not even the hard part. The rock garden after it is much harder (if you dont take the bypass)

well i havent tried it in my truck. ive ridden up it and it was difficult for the trucks we were riding with yeah the far right side of the rock garden is more difficult i did see a wrangler on 35's have troublewith that line we came up the far left side. but next time im down there i will have sliders so i'll give it a shot then

daniel is strait awesome going up, yeah I would agree that the rock garden is harder than the step-up in the s-turn. Heres a picture right after I went up the step.
