Yea, Everett said it's going to rain, Oh well, it will just be a little more slick there.

Did you get your some tires? I remimber you saying that you were needing some.

Camping in the rain is not much fun, especially with the family. Saterday should be a good day only 30% chance but we maybe going home early on sun. But every thing could change with the next forcast so we'll see.

No I don't have the $ right now but they are getting to the top of the list.

i'll be bringing an extra tarp just in case. I can camping in the rain no problem but now the wife is coming up on sat afternoon. so who knows. Caleb. Friday night dinner is gonna be on me :D i got a good idea and a new cast iron pan to try out.

What is Mullinex store or whatever...is that the same as the eldorado outpost? I don't remember seeing another store close by.

neither did i and i have been there a few times.. mapquest post of it please.

Weather report is not getting any better, looks like rain sat and sun with highs only in the mid 60's. It's still a go but we may be heading out sat, sun really looks like crap.

If they got as much rain as we did yesterday and last night it's going to be a mud run not a trail ride. My tires will not do good in slick mud :thumbdwn: .

It rained like crazy here. Mullinix store is on HWY 109. It's to hard to mapquest it, I'm going to go back with the directions that take you to Eldorado outpost. It's posted a few pages back, Would that be better for all of us? I'm not sure where your camp site is, and since we all know how to get there...

Woo hoo, free dinner! That extra tarp may serve as my bib, all it'll need is a hole cut in the middle for my head:thumbsup:

John, I will write down your number and give you a call sometime, so then I will know what time to be where.

ok i should be getting out of work early and heading up i just finished packing. the back of the x is full of wood and crap for the wife. but food should be great as the norm for me. Bring drinks or something. making meat, corn on the cob with potatoes and onions and of course a dutch oven desert.. what flavor on that i like them all.

All packed and heading out the door. We decided to go early and setup in the dark so we can enjoy atleast one day of good weather. I will be doing the free camping but not sure if it will be on the trail. Who ever gets there first give me a call, cell is 704-488-0371. :salute:

heck i'll call now..........Caleb callme erly as you can i think i get up before since i get up at 5 am ever day

oh yea last post i am bringing the laptop to burn photo cds of this :D

Well shoot, since ExploringNC is already down there, I will get all my ****e packed and head that way tomorrow after class!

And I was unable to get my winch put all back together, but I have got plenty of tow straps in the event any are needed.

John, just left you a voicemail, and I look forward to dinner!:salute:

All Packed ready to ride, Should arrive around 730-8

Well...did everybody have fun? We headed out last night to try and miss the storm, got home a little before midnight I guess. Anybody know how bad it got up there?

Scott, did you ever make it?

We had a few minor problems: Lost wheel weights on my truck which made for a rough ride on the interstate, cut a fourwheeler tire, and my brothers truck ate a rear u-joint on the way home but it made it.

Had a blast while i was looking for you out on the trails. :D may of just had the dogs with me but it was fun. still not sure how i bent that shackle tho. Wheres the pics as i didnt have a camera with me.

Well finally made it back around 11p, ran into a few problems late in the day. Cut a tire right at the end of the last run on the easy trail and then on the way home the alternater died on me. Battery light came on just after leaving for home, ran for about an hour then battery died about one mile from parts store at an intersection in the pouring down rain. walked to Advance and barrowed thier jumper box and had to use both my jumper box and thiers to start it and limp to thier parking lot. Pulled alternator in a monsoon on a very muddy engine, $170 later, soaked clear threw and covered in mud was back on the road.

Had a really good time thow, I think I've hooked the entire family on doing the wheeling camping thing. It was hard to leave since I have till monday off work but didn't want to get caught in a bad storm camping (been there done that). Have a few pics but I will post them seperate so rest of the forum can see.

Larry, I gave up, went home and mowed my lawn to blow off some steem about getting lost. My map was right on the money, but my directions were wrong. I'm going back at the end of the month to make up for it. I know you can't make it due to your wedding (Congratulations on that by the way). ExpoNC, you want to join? Looks like you may get new tires sooner than you planned since you cut one.
