Calling all sport owners!!

I have a 91 Navajo, and just purchased these rocker panel covers off ebay. Im having a hard time understanding, or planning out in my head, how these mount. Here is a pic of my truck

Now how do these mount?? Do they go over the wheel mouldings, or am i gonna have to do some cutting??

Any pics, or thoughts you have would be greatly appreciated. These should be ariving in a couple of days, and im just trying to get an idea of the job i will have ahead of me.

I don't know exactly how they mount on yours (I used zipties on mine after all the plastic pins fell out) but the small part goes in front on the front fender and the other piece should nestle into it and go all the way back.

The bottom attaches to the pinch weld.
The tops should come with " christmas tree " clips.
If you don't want to drill your Ex all up, some heavy duty adheasive and / or double sided tape will do the trick.

Exactly

I almost never got the "tree" clips to go back in, so I ziptied the bottom to the pinch weld and used a combo of duct tape, zip ties, and liquid nails for the top. If you put some time into it and the bottom is secure, the top should hold reasonably well.

Coolness!! I just got the covers, they are brand new, BONUS! They do have the "christmas tree" clips. I'm currently pondering whether to drill, or just try some of that double sided 3M tape. I just dont want em comin off driving down the road. Also do they just slide over the wheel mouldings, or do i have to cut them (wheel mouldings)?? Thanks for all your help so far, you and Alec have been great!

Here is a picture of my explorer with the moldings on. I know it is a bad pic but if you look close you might be able to see what it is supposed to look like. I noticed that the molding you got was for a 95-2000 if they don't fit right I will be taking mine off in a few weeks and you can have them for free.

Yes, I believe you'll have to cut your moldings at least a little.

And they won't come flying off if you at least ziptie the bottom to the pinch weld. That way even if the top comes off they'll just hang but not fall off.

And HVAC, its my underfstanding that the 2nd gen covers match perfectly to the 1st gen X's. But I certainly appreciate the offer, and if i end up needing them, i have no problem paying you for yours.

the clips will hold better than the tape.
obviously it is much more labor intensive.

Cool, I appreciate it man. Ill prolly need a lil help. 1st of all im not sure how to mark where to drill, and second im going to have to trim the wheel mouldings, and i dont want to cut too much.

I am pretty sure the Ford clip holes are 1/4 inch.
Call your buddy and invite him over for pizza.
Now get some creme hardener, permatex, what ever. Some sort of thick cream stuff. Fit it up just by hand, and see what it looks like. Get a good eye ball on the fit and location.
Now take that creme or what have you and put a tiny dab on the tip of each Christmas tree clip.
Now carefully fit it up again, gently touching the clip tips to the truck. They will leave a small mark on your truck telling you where to drill.
Take a deep breath and drill away. ( wear eye protection ) When you are done that, with a brush prime the bare metal you left by drilling.
Then put a thin layer of scillicon aroung the edge of the hole to help seal out moisture.
Snap the moulding into palce.
Attach the bottom.
Do the other side.
Go eat pizza.

Well they went on today. More of a PITA than i expected, and the drivers side is a little off, but not really noticible. They definitely arent coming off. Ill try to get some pics up. Thanks again for everyones help!
