Today I just bought a 94 with 150,000 off the original owner it's awd runs well great shape it's an XLT LOADED. I paid $1,500. It has a tow hitch but tiny ass tires. Will a daystar 2" lift allow me to run 29/30 inch tires. I'm not mug bogging I want to tow a popup or make it a westi clone for camping and driving on fire/ logging roads or camp grounds. I think I got maybe 6 inches of clearence you just about get the factory jack under neath. So I'm thing of BG ALL TARRAIN. Unless someone knows better. Don't beat me up here thanks

Narrow wheel wells, you may need more lift to fit anything tall in the front. A 245 45 R17 won't fit without rubbing.

I'm confused, why do you need bigger tires to pull a camper? Trying to get a higher load rating?

Says he wants more than 6 inches of clearance for camp ground dirt roads.

Camp ground road

That's correct I'm looking to go down camp ground roads I towed a camper with a friends min van dodge. It had 6 inches of clearance and you heard the belly scrapping once awhile. Between uneven roads and gullies ect.. So I was thinking 28" on explorer 15/16 rime. I got these small 14 and I can see dragging. I have read evey post starting from 11 ok last night till 5 am. Some say use ranger springs I don't see how to get 2 inches of hight. I cross reference moog numbers and ranger front 4x4 hd xtra cab are the same springs as a Aerostar rear rwd springs. Now day star has spacers for a 2 inch lift. Is that big enuf for 28-29 because stock is 26.how come those dubs gansters bag everything. Can you put the bags in the front springs to clear the tires. I might be older than some but I had a new 1977 Cherokee chief from the factory I had air shocks I case I wanted to run a plow. You never hear about those hijackers anymore.
Just my 2 cents

I was curious about how tall of a tire would fit the van so I got the spare out of my 99 grand cherokee, it is a 29 inch diameter. It is larger than the wheel well. I'd hit the junk yard to find a cheap wheel with a 27.5 inch tire to see how it fits. If you jack the van up by the body that would simulate some lift.

Not to be an ass, but I think you just need to focus on line selection. I've taken my Spark down plenty of dirt roads and forestry roads, and it's fine. A little scrapping is no big deal, long as you ain't dragging parts.

If you really feel like you need bigger tires... you could do a spacer lift and step up the tire size a little. Might be able to squeeze out an inch or 2 but any more than that, you need to invest some cash for lower gears, and a real lift.

Taller tires= more strain on tranny and your all wheel drive, especially if pulling something. Just a thought. don-ohio (:^)

Off road camping

Guys I know we been debating on ride height and some are running explorer rims and ta tires. What size tires. I measured my night from the ground ti the lip on the wheel well 26 rear 27 1/4 front. Could my springs be shot that t sits low. I can just about get the factory jack under the van on the pinch welds. I found the 4x4 relay unplugged and in the glove box. I asked the owner they never told me about this when I bought the van. They said it's still running in awd mode because when it's on a lift all 4 tires spin. They said when trying to make tight turns it pulled so the Goodyear service center just un plugged it. They been driving like this for 2 years with no problem?

Yes,springs can go bad. Mine did. Not hard to replace on the 2 wheel drive version. don-ohio
