Can I install an OEM subwoofer?

some of you guys may be satisfied using the JL 6W0 for an OEM replacement. It does ok.

I have a '00 with the factory Mach 8 that's powered with the sub channel of a Directed 2205 5ch amp, signal from my Excelon KDC-X679. It's not what I'm used to, but it fills in the bottom for now. Probably going to put a Solobaric L7 8" back there one of these days.

I think using an aftermarket amp on the factory sub makes a bit of a difference, if you're using an A/M radio

I gathered all the parts to make this installation many years ago. But after getting the subwoofer and cover, I found that I needed the complete harness that goes from the HU to the rear. I sorta lost motivation after that and just made my screen velcro into place making a nice secret compartment for.. whatever you want. :D

I am running into the same problem. I am trying to install a factory subwoofer and amp set that I pulled out of a 1st gen X at a salvage yard. I took off my panel and took off my factory amp that is there. But I am missing a wire. I got the two that go into the original amp, and they fit in the new one. But there is another wire coming from the middle amp on the one i am trying to put in, but I don't have any wires in my X that plug into it. And it doesn't work without it. Any ideas? Am i supposed to splice it.
