Greetings fellas,

I have a 2 door 01' Ford Explorer sport.

My driver seat has lost a lot of support and I am looking to outright replace it or some how get new padding in there. I've looked high and low and can't seem to find anything.

Thanks.

I've been thinking about mine too.
A lot of posts I've seen are of people putting in racing style seats, which can work fine once the mounting sorts out, but that's not the style I personally want. Sparco, Recaro, and Corbeau are brands I've seen mentioned. It has been stated in a couple threads I found, and I assume it to be true, Ford has stopped producing the foam for our seats. Joe Dirt had a post/write up about replacing the foam yourself for just the cost of the foam ($10-$15 I think), but the pics are missing (for me at least) and I forget where I found it. Its looking like the best option for us is finding a local shop who can redo the foam, or search other places online to find a generic seat re-foaming how-to. Thats my plan at least.

Edit: if anyone else has advice I'll appreciate it. Cause I certainly could use some more cushion. Mine has taken a beating.

I did some google search for upholstery here in Dallas and found the asian lady from "Gas Monkey" and she quoted $150 to have it re-foamed and stitched.

Go to a junk yard and grab a pass. side foam its the same as the driver side and is almost always in perfect shape, it takes about an hour to swap out , cheap easy factory fit.
