i have a 96 sport and i was wondering if i could lower a 4x4 expo?? can it be done?? if it can where can i buy the kit?? thanks for the help in advance.

you can lower it... but if you want to seriously slam it, then a 4x4 is not the best idea for lowering.....
 






dont rally want to slam it just lower it about an inch, inch1/2 all the way around
 






You can easily lower it 1.5" by using the torsion bars adjusters in the front and blocks in the rear. Many threads on this.

There is also a kit from www.explorerexpress.com that greatly improves ride and handling.
 






you can do it easily... look on the site for what is called a torsion twist, you can either use it to raise or lower the frontend (lower in your case) and put a lift block (although it will be used to lower) in the rear springs..... and the best part is that lift blocks only cost like $25 and the torsion bar twist is free :)

as of right now im not sure...theres a lot i need to do to it befor i start modding it...i would like to rebuild the engine and i have to get e new power sterring pump and i need to get the dent in the back fixed befor i start really going all out on it
i would like to put a supercharger on it and some other engine mods some rims and new paint
