Trying to understand this intelligent four-wheel drive system, and what the dashboard graphic means when it does this.....

I found myself leaving it in this graphic mode, trying to understand what the changes mean while I'm driving.

Can anyone shed some light on this for me?

The bar graphs represent where the engine power is applied. In your video, all of the power is being applied to the front wheels. Different "mode" selections will alter how the power is distributed for different terrain conditions.

I was trying to monitor that graphic as I drove in different conditions, to see if I noticed that the graphic/traction changed when I drove in wet or snowy weather versus dry weather.

I'm trying to learn the handling of the vehicle so I am familiar with it and knowledgeable in how to handle it better.

I don't yet feel comfortable enough in this new vehicle to rely on the technology more than my own driving skills and I find myself letting off the gas in some turns because I have not yet gained that confidence level.

It's not a matter of my actual driving skills, as my other car is an 89 Toyota Supra, so I am very well capable of maneuvering turns and banking at high speeds, I've only had this Explorer a little more than a month so I'm still in that learning curve period.

I feel it is more of a distraction and would rather keep my eyes up and focused on the road.

Absolutely. But the changing graphic can be seen via peripheral vision, which led to my original question.
After driving a 30 year old car, I find it strange to drive an SUV with such technological enhancements!! LoL
