Hey guys,

I've got a 93 Limited...69 thousand on it..so i dont want to put a lot of money into it....but i do want to upgrade my sound system.

I'm running off factory speakers and an aftermarket HU. What should I do? Buy subs and an amp? And hook everything up to the amp? Buy new speakers?...Idk. I know very little about audio and how it works....so can someone tell me what they think i should do?

Also..my HU is 120W, but I was told that doesnt really matter...that my amp can have a higher wattage, but that since my speakers are factory; they will rattle.

Make heads and tails of this...anyone?

Do you want added bass?
Better mids and highs?
What are you looking for in a stereo?

yeh, i want more bass....and i want to be able to crank it. I can only go to thirty with the speakers ive got now...

From what you have been telling me over aim, it sounds like you would want a 4-channel amp, that would make it louder and clearer(with new speakers). If you want bass get a 2 channel and run the inputs off of the outputs(i cant remeber their real name) to the amp and hook up the subs.

Sounds to me like you need to get together a budget. Shopping list is going to consist of:
4-5x7 speakers or a pair of 6.5 component speakers or size of your choice
four channel amplifier for front and rear speakers if money permits
two channel amplifier for rear subwoofers or subwoofer
subwoofer
wires
installation if necessary

Instead of multiple amplifers, sometimes you can score a nice 5 channel amp that will cover all your bases while saving you money and a bit of space - depending on the brand and wattage.

Again, as above, all depends what your end result is aiming to be.
