I've got a few funky noises coming from my Explorer... 1, I don't know if it's the power steering or what, but it's fairly loud when turning the wheel at a stop, not super loud, I don't know if it's worth looking at, but I am trying to keep everything up to par in hopes that I can soon have everything up to snuff. the second noise comes at idle. It's what I would describe as a "glowing hum" sound. when I rev the motor up it disappears, Also, sometimes, not all the time, when I switch the AC off it will stop. Any thoughts?

for the noise @ idle maybe try cleaning the IAC

Ford Power steering pumps have always been known to make noise. I add Marvels Mystery Oil to all of mine and it works quite well. As for the other noise it sounds like your compressor. Have the R-134 level checked...they tend to make noise when they get low.
