Hi folks, title says it all, can you actually stand on the rear bumper without it buckling like a loaf of bread that had a couple of cans of corn sitting on it???

it looks reaaally flimsy, frankly I liked my 94's bumper better....

any thoughts on this, I'd like to wax the top of my truck but with the 32's I can't reach the center without stepping on the bumper, thanks

If the bumper cannot support your weight, I'd say that there is something wrong with the hardware securing the bumper. I'm push 300 and every bumper I've had (even on my Mitsubishi!) has supported my weight fine

Agreed.

My bumber has been subjected to two men standing on it. BTW, I also stand on top of my tires from time to time when waxing the top, or working stuff on the roof rack - check it out - it gives a good reach.

Stood on mine today, dont see why it would buckle unless there is something wrong with it.

Go right ahead! I'm 225 and a buddy of mine is 230. We were both up there the other day admiring my peeling roof paint.

On a '05?

I have peeling roof paint on my 2002 Crown Victoria w/ only 46k miles.

Something about the paint that ford used around this time.

i've seen it on my '04 along the gutter thing.

^^ Its all the gutters on mine. And because I can stand on the bumper I discovered this lovely new issue. I was actually up there to clean to clean the roof and install a CB antenna when I made the discovery.

your hitch or support plate should hold you (whats under the bumper skin)...if you have done a bodylift and did not move the hitch/support plate up then it will not hold you it will buckle theres no structural support in the plastic cover

Thanks you guys I'd forgotten if I had posted the question or not. Cool, I wasn't too sure cuz it flexes quite a bit more than a steel bumper.

Sux about your roof paint cozmik I really can't understand how a modern car manufacturer can't figure out a way to make the paint stick on their vehicles more than this. The day one of the big three actually stands behind their product and their defects, will be the day they climb back on top....

If it was pushed down, can you pushed it back up.
Mine was like that too.

Thanks. Its gonna be a do it myself fix. The truck is on 32's now and days away from a Roadbully lift so the roof won't be very visible at all.
