I have 4 7" rally lights on my lightbar, and they have a 100W halogen in them right now... im wondering what type of bulb i should put in them??

would a 4300K 55W HID be brighter then a 100W Halogen? im looking for the brightest possible setup.

im thinking of getting 2 of these kits and putting them in the light bar to replace the 100W halogens

other options?

:D

i would error on the side of caution when getting HIDs for that. If you have them set up as part of your high beams, you cannot flash to pass or you will fry the ballasts. you also should be careful of the heat that the 55watters will put out. I know that DDM tuning recommends that 55watt not be used in fog lights because it will melt them.

food for thought

KC makes as 130Watt bulb. Very bright. However, HID would be brighter.
But, HID is a PIA going into lights. So I would and have, gone with the 130W bulbs and am happy with the output.

this is what they would be going into, its not tied into anything stock, just simple on-off switch with fuses. heat should be less then what stock was.

whats KC stand for?

the front is high grade plastic and quite far away from the bulb, and the rest is metal.

if i were you i'd error on the side of caution, and do 35 watt kits. they're still amazingly bright, and you definitally won't melt anything.

but i'm just one guy. feel free to see what everyone else says.

thx :D

I would go for the 55w kit, I highly doubt that 55w HIDs will get as hot as 100w halogens, but then again im no expert. Either way you go, 35 or 55w, they would both kick the 100w halogens ass! And you'd have the sickest offroad lights around :p:

What bulb number are you looking at?

K C HiLites. Do you have relays to power your lights now?
Where are you going to mount the ballasts?

Just some thoughts.....

thx brian :D

hey are probably going to be 4300, but i may just go for 6000.

yea its a 40 amp relay from the batt, with a 30 amp fuse, and heavy duty switch with 10 gauge.

as for the ballasts, i haven't decided yet, im going to see if i can mount them on the bar NEATLY, if not im planning on making a roof basket, and then ill just mount on the underside(or front) of that.
