Can't find a sport

My dealers been trying for a week to get me a sport. He's called Dealerships within a 900 mile radius. Those that have the sport end up selling it within a day. So I'm kind of stuck. Does anybody know what the production schedule is going to be for the new Explorer sports? And specifically how long does it take to order one?

My dealer has a white one sitting on the lot. At least he did a couple of weeks ago.
I would imagine that the production time would be about the same as the rest of the Explorers. The most common reply seemed to be 8 - 10 weeks.
Unfortunately this isn't the best time to order as the factory shuts down for 2 weeks for the holidays.
I ordered mine just prior to Christmas 2010 and it was delivered to the dealer March 11th, 2011.

I ordered my sport in mid October and got it 4 weeks later in VA. There were 2 or 3 in the area but not with the options I wanted and they wanted sticker which I wasn't even considering paying.

10/31 - Sticker Available
11/7 - Built
11/16 - Delivered

There's no justice. I ordered 7/5. Built 11/14. Delivered 11/20. The other Sport at my dealer was ordered in early June and arrived on the same truck as mine.

If I'm recall correctly, I don't think the Sport was due to be released until the Fall.

Agreed. Sterling Ford and Tyson's Ford in Northern VA each had 2 for at least a couple weeks when I was looking. But as I said they were wanting sticker and I'm guessing they didn't want to do a DX. Last I looked there were still a few around in NoVa.

Not sure what part of VA you're in, but I was in Richmond/Ashland area last week and there were 3 on the lot (black, red, and white) and 4 in transit...

Yep, there's definitely some around. I see trucks with them on it everyday
