First post here though I come here first when I need to figure something out like the lower thermostat housing assembly which now works fine. So my keyless entry on my '01 Sport Trac is not working except for the extremely rare occasion. Maybe 1 time out of 100, the fob will actually unlock or lock the doors. I decided it is time to tackle this monster. Things I have tried to fix this:
Replace battery in fob.
Order new fobs.
Replace door lock actuator.
I can get the truck to enter programming mode for the fobs but when I click the lock button on the fob to do the programming, nothing happens. Doesn't matter if it is an old fob or one of the new ones. Absolutely none of them work as expected when trying to program them. What should I try next?
