I have two door lock remotes. Looks like I can program only one remote at a time. As soon as I set one up, the other one stops working. Is there a way out of this?

You program them at the same time. Key on 8x, press button on remote, press button on other remote and key off. The door locks will cycle and confirm every step.

Thanks boominXplorer. If all else fails, read the owners manual. (Page 63)

Reprogramming transmitters

To reprogram all transmitters, place the key in the ignition and switch from OFF to ON eight times in a row (within 10 seconds). After doors lock/unlock, press any button on all transmitters (up to four). When completed, switch the ignition to OFF. All transmitters must be reprogrammed at the same time.

In the category of what were they thinking of, why EIGHT times? And God forbid if you don't make it under 10 seconds.

Ha, if you think programming remotes is complicated, try turning the seat belt reminder chime on or off.

^ LOL. I was thinking the same thing. Appears 1998 doesn't have BeltMinder disable. (Page 80)

The belt minder has to be the most annoying feature ever!

We've had the seatbelt chime for at least 20 years now. Gotten used to it. At least we don't have the dreaded ignition interlock switch (who remembers THAT?)

Nephew and I had a new Edge rented to return cross-country after trucking all my shop equipment to AZ from MO (he was stationed at Ft. Leonard Wood, Marine Corps). I won't use a seat belt. The chime every few minutes was driving us nuts. He simply buckled the f*xking belt behind my ass, and then I sat on it. Problem solved. imp

I always wear my seat belt when driving, but if I'm just moving a vehicle in the driveway or going to pick up my mail (1/4 mile down to the mailbox) I don't bother. I wasn't going to let that damn feature beat me, but it took me 4-5 tries to get it turned off.
