Serious Explorers,

Here are some photos of what your rig looks like on a car carrier, how it is secured and how it is protected when it arrives. I have also posted a video of a "walkaround" on the carrier and Storm Trooper coming off of the carrier. Hope you enjoy and learn a little at the same time! MANY more photos coming through the Pre-delivery process and beyond!

Photos posted below and videos are in Photobucket....

Congrats Ron!! On both the new EX and the change in your forum status!

They should have let you drive it off the carrier!

Awesome looking vehicle and great photos, Mr. Moderator :D

Yay! Have fun RonJrSvcMgr! That's awesome! And it clearly says Drivers Wanted on that truck, so I agree, you should have gotten to drive it off :-)
So how long did it take them to prep the car, process it into stock and then make the sale? That's very cool that you got to see it arrive like that. By the way, how were you tracking the shipment so closely? We've had our VIN from Cory for about a week and there is bare bones info in ETIS. Our dealer, who told us they were under new management and would keep close tabs on the order still haven't so much as called or emailed. This from the same group it took us 31 days to pry an order confirmation from and then they tried just giving us back the website printout of our build we gave them! Best so far has been the guy on the phone saying there aren't really any incentives but he would love to give us some, really he would, only the best ones "come in the mail, like to your house, in your name, from Ford and you would have to have that from time of order." When I told him i did and he argued that "they can't be in your husband's name, honey", I was glad to have not been there in person... generally bad to punch the dealer in the eye:mad:
So, I wanted to know how to track your order so as to minimize the amount of time these fools have contact with our green girl. I've never cared about badges, etc but these people will NOT be putting a sticker or frame plate anywhere on our vehicle...they don't want me advertising for them. The only "dealer installs" we have are mats and roof rack cross bars...all of which we can do just fine ourselves. I would love to see the big green kiddo arriving safely like you did with StormTrooper.

I work at the dealership and have access to "Vehicle Visibility" like Cory does. They could have had it ready yesterday, but I am holding out for the July 3rd incentive changeover. I currently get $1,000 rebate, but Explorer sales were down 13% in Boston in May, so they may pad it another $500 or so. I will be taking photos of the entire Pre-delivery process, which may happen today. My recon guy is also going to clay the outside before applying wax to remove any "rail dust", etc from the paint. I would love to be driving it this weekend or next (probably next weekend), but I will most likely be able to make a few small roadtest runs on a dealer plate while we wait. I sent my 4Runner to auction today, so if that goes at a good number, it will be hard to wait..... It will just give me more time to play around with everything.

cnsheets & VinceL,

I agree; the new title is looking good! :D

Toddy,

So mark you down as “no” on the badge? ;)

Congrats on your Explorer arriving and for the new status, RonJrSVCMGR! Thanks for posting all the great pics! :)

Cory

Great pics. Not many folks have the chance to see their new Ex come off the truck:chug:

Toddy,

Cory

Me too- no way they're charging ME for the advertising fund AND putting on a sticker, badge, or frame. :)

Looks very nice, but my eagle eyes also saw a white Interceptor Utility on that truck. Im guessing your dealer is doing the PDI before it goes to the Agency for upfitting.

If you can take it for a drive do it, the 3.7L is nice and you will see the AWD programming difference.
